Math

We will be finishing our Math Games Day unit with a little bit of money review and some work with rounding.  We will also review some strategies to help understand what is being asked in a Math word problem.

By mid-month, we are excited to begin our second Fosnot Unit, "Ages and Timelines".  In this unit we will focus on strategies to subtract larger numbers, including using tens and hundreds patterns.  As with all the Fosnot units, the activities are based on partner work and class discussions.  This enables students to generate strategies to deepen their own understanding of the mathematics.  Therefore, it is very important for students to be present for all the lessons, as the work cannot be sent home.
